Description:
Schooner Bay Condominiums puts you just outside downtown Christiansted. It's possible to walk to town, but if you're returning in the dark, it's best to take a taxi. St. Croix's police work hard to ensure your safety, but why take a chance? That precaution aside, a vacation here gives you all the comforts of home in a combination residential and vacation property. You can meet your neighbors at either of the two spacious pools located amidships on the property or at the tennis court.
There's no beach here, but your rental car can put you at the Buccaneer Hotel's beach in just a few minutes. And the charming city of Christiansted is just a few minutes away. You'll find lots of duty-free shopping, gracious restaurants and interesting sites to explore.
The two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites come fully equipped for tropical living. The rooms have tile floors, modern rattan furniture, and colorful tropical accents. Only the bedrooms are air-conditioed, but ceiling fans and tradewinds cool the rest of the rooms. Television and a
VCR will make it really seem like home. Balconies or patios provide a place to relax as well as views of Christiansted Harbor. Several rooms are wheelchair accessible.
The units come with washers and dryers, a boon when you're faced with mounds of sandy and salty kids' clothes. The fully-equipped kitchens make cooking at home a breeze. There's a great market within walking distance on the main road. Schooner Bay Market carries everything you'll need for meals. If you want to do a larger shopping market, stop at the Cost-U-Less, Plaza Extra, Sunshine Supermarket and Pueblo supermarkets located along Route 70 on your way in from the airport. There is a Pueblo on the western side of Christiansted, but you'll find the selection better at the other markets. Prices are higher than you're used to all over the island, so be prepared to spend a little more.
Schooner Bay sits right next to the Gallows Bay shopping area. You'll find small shops perfect for browsing, a few restaurants and the Morning Glory bakery, the perfect place for people watching while you enjoy your morning muffin and newspaper.
